FAQ’s – CE Activity Planners

What is the first step in planning an accredited CE activity with CEHP?

The first step is to complete the CE Activity Planning Form. This short online form requires basic information about your proposed activity. You can access the form here.

How far in advance should the CE Activity Planning Form be submitted?

To ensure ample time for planning, documentation, and promotion of your activity, please submit your CE Activity Planning Form at least 120 days prior to the activity start date.

I am planning multiple CE activities. Can I submit just one CE Activity Planning Form?

Unless your proposed activity is a Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS), you must submit a CE Activity Planning Form for each individual activity. RSS activities only need to submit one Activity Planning Form for the entire series.

What happens after I submit the CE Activity Planning Form?

After submitting the CE Activity Planning Form, you will be directed to complete the online Disclosure of Financial Relationships Form

I am planning multiple CE activities. Do I need to submit a Disclosure Form each time?

No, you only need to submit a Disclosure form once per year unless your financial relationships change.

How long does it take for the CEHP office to review the forms I submitted?

Upon receiving and reviewing your CE Activity Planning and Disclosure forms, a CEHP staff member will typically follow up with you within three business days.

What is the next step after my activity is deemed eligible to proceed?

Once your activity is deemed eligible to proceed with the planning process, you will receive instructions to complete the CE Application.

 


 

FAQ’s – CE Activity Participants

EthosCE Learner Portal 

How do I access the EthosCE Portal?

The EthosCE portal is compatible with most modern web browsers (such as Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari). Note: The EthosCE portal can also be accessed with mobile devices.

I do not have an EthosCE Portal learner account. How do I get one?

To create or update your EthosCE learner account, please follow these instructions below:

  • Visit the CME Website
  • Click “Register” in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
  • Complete all required profile fields (marked with a red asterisk). We recommend using your email address as your username.
  • Enter your 10-digit mobile phone number (excluding any dashes, parentheses, or spaces)
  • Click “Create New Account” when complete.
Can I claim CE credit without an EthosCE learner account?

If you would like to receive CE credit for participating in an accredited CE activity, you must have an active EthosCE learner account.

What should I do if I forget my EthosCE learner account password?

If you forget your EthosCE learner account password, follow these steps to reset it:

  • Go to the EthosCE login page: cme.smhs.gwu.edu/user/password
  • Click on the “Forgot Password?” link.
  • Enter the email address associated with your learner account.
  • Answer the CAPTCHA question.
  • Check your email for a password reset link and follow the instructions provided.

Please Note: If you encounter any issues or do not receive the reset email, please contact the EthosCE support team at 267-234-7400 for further assistance.

 

CE Transcripts & Certificates

How do I access my CE Transcript/Certificate?

To access your CE Transcript in your EthosCE learner account, follow these steps:

  • Log in to the “Completed Activities” tab in your EthosCE learner account.
  • Your completed activities will display, along with any CE credit earned, and a link to download a certificate, if available.
  • You can download a certificate for a single activity or a transcript for a listing of all CE activities.

Please note: If you are missing an activity, please check your “Pending Activities tab” for any activities that you have not completed the credit claim requirements for.

Can I upload CE transcripts/certificates that I have earned from other organizations to my EthosCE learner account?

Yes, you can upload CE transcripts and certificates from other organizations to your EthosCE learner account. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Log in to the Activities tab in your EthosCE learner account.
  • Select the “External Credits” tab.
  • Select the option to “Add credits”.
  • Complete the required information and upload the file.
  • Click “Save” and the external credit(s) will be added to your transcript.

 

Live CE Activity Participants 

How do I claim CE credit for attending a live CE activity?

Participants in GW’s accredited CE activities will receive CE credit upon verification of attendance and completion of all activity requirements.

  • At the conclusion of the activity, a unique activity code will be announced.
  • Verify your attendance by:
  • SMS Text Message - Text the activity code to 202-902-9966 (We suggest adding this number to your mobile phone contacts)
  • Online URL
  • After verifying your attendance, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to access the activity evaluation. You may also access the evaluation through the “Pending Activities” tab of your EthosCE learner account.
  • Complete the evaluation prior to the activity expiration date.
  • Once the evaluation is completed, the system will display the amount and type of CE credit awarded, along with a link to download your CE certificate.
