The Office of Continuing Education in the Health Professions (CEHP) collaborates with schools, healthcare organizations, professional societies, government agencies, and other educational partners to develop and deliver accredited continuing education activities for healthcare professionals.
As an accredited continuing education (CE) provider, CEHP offers expertise and support in:
- Educational activity planning and development
- Accreditation and continuing education credit designation
- Compliance with ACCME and ACPE accreditation requirements
- Educational design and outcomes assessment
- Learner registration and continuing education documentation
- Activity review, reporting, and recordkeeping
Independence of Education
To ensure the independence, integrity, and quality of our educational activities, all accredited programs are developed in accordance with ACCME and ACPE standards and are designed to address identified educational needs while remaining free from commercial influence.
GW SMHS is committed to providing independent, evidence-based continuing education. As such, we do not collaborate with companies or organizations whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients. Educational activities must remain independent of commercial interests and be developed in the best interests of healthcare professionals and the patients they serve.

Meeting Management and Event Planning Responsibilities
Please Note: CEHP provides accreditation and educational planning support but does not provide meeting management or event planning services. Responsibility for logistical support, including venue selection, registration management, audiovisual services, catering, marketing, travel arrangements, and on-site coordination, remains with the educational partner.
CEHP maintains a directory of independent meeting management vendors and contractors. This directory is provided solely as an informational resource and does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or approval by GW SMHS or CEHP. Educational partners are responsible for independently evaluating, selecting, contracting with, and overseeing any vendor or contractor they choose to engage.
